Ahmedabad, Gujarat: Every year, with the incoming of the newly inducted batches, in the first few weeks, the students are generally introduced to their campus, faculty, programme structure and academic routine. This approach supports a mindset of earning the degree and then figuring out what to do with it. But the times are not changing, they have changed, and now it is upon the business schools of the country to evolve parallelly with it. Narayana Business School, recognized as one of the Best Education Brands of 2026 by The Economic Times, aims at setting the tone and inculcating a mindset right from the beginning.
Genesis 2026: I.N.S.P.I.R.E in Action is a flagship induction programme by Narayana Business School welcoming the MBA and PGDM students. And the core idea of the induction was that students should not have to wait two years to start experiencing what a business school is supposed to prepare them for.
NBS Ahmedabad welcomed its incoming PGDM and MBA batches of 2026–28 through an intensive and immersive 20-day induction that brought together industry exposure, entrepreneurship, professional preparation, academic orientation, student activities and experiences around Ahmedabad.
More than 500 new NBSians took part in the programme, which brought 40+ industry leaders and speakers to campus.
This year’s Genesis was organised around the seven values represented by the acronym I.N.S.P.I.R.E.
- I – Innovation
- N – Nation First Mindset
- S – Skill Development
- P – Professionalism
- I – Industry Integration
- R – Responsibility & Ethics
- E – Experiential Learning
Each value was given its own space in the programme and, more importantly, was connected to an experience.
The Innovation Day, for example, brought the startup ecosystem into the classroom through a panel discussion with eChai Ventures, featuring founders and business leaders. For the day dedicated to Nation First Mindset, Narayana Business School invited a scientist from ISRO to address the students. The Skill Development component moved into an area students will encounter throughout their careers i.e., data. Professional preparation was also introduced early. Students were guided on building and optimising their LinkedIn profiles using AI, while other sessions focused on understanding career choices and the realities of different work environments.
The Industry Integration component went beyond speaker sessions. A dedicated panel explored Corporate, Startup or MSME: Where Should You Start Your Career, bringing together professionals from different kinds of organisations and giving students a more practical view of the paths available to them. And like this each dedicated day had something to teach.
The induction also included an Industry Sprint, a day best dedicated to what experiential learning looks like. Students worked on real business problems and presented their solutions within 24 hours to well-known professionals from the startup and consultancy industry.
And this is where Genesis 2026: I.N.S.P.I.R.E in Action got really immersive. Students had the opportunity to experience Ahmedabad as a heritage city through heritage walks, meet NBS alumni through The Alumni Diaries, and take part in Echoes of Expression, where students brought their talents in music, dance, poetry and other forms of expression to the stage.
Genesis orientation program also introduced students to the different academic and non-academic functions of NBS, its faculty, programme leadership, student clubs and the people who would be part of their everyday life on campus. That is what I.N.S.P.I.R.E in Action was meant to establish from the beginning.
Speaking about Genesis 2026, Dr. Amit Gupta, Founder and Director, Narayana Business School, said, “We wanted our students to experience the breadth of a management education from the beginning. Genesis is our way of giving them an early understanding of industry, entrepreneurship, professional life, their city and their own potential. The idea was to make every experience contribute something to the mindset we want our students to develop.”
Genesis 2026: B School Orientation for MBA and PGDM Batch Of 2026
Narayana Business School offers one of the most value for money brand experience in the higher education space. For an institution that has built its position in India’s management education landscape, Genesis represents a deliberate choice in how NBS wants to approach student development i.e., start early, expose students to the real world, and make the experience broad enough to go beyond academics. In just around 20 days, the new batches had already met people from the startup ecosystem, corporate world, public institutions, academia and the NBS alumni community. They had worked on business problems, explored Ahmedabad, participated in student-led activities and begun building relationships with their batchmates.
There is still a long way to go before the Class of 2026–28 completes its two-year journey at NBS. But Genesis was designed to make sure they did not have to wait until the end of those two years to understand what that journey could look like.
